About us

newlands_cricket

Central Athletics is based at Newlands Cricket Stadium

Central Athletics was established in January 2014 by a few like-minded individuals who have more than 40 years running experience between them.

We have seen the positive impact it has had on our lives and felt the need to share it with others and the wider community. The idea was to provide a home for people who want to improve their lifestyles and increase their fitness levels by following a running programme with the emphasis on enjoyment.

The philosophy has always been on welcoming runners of all abilities and making them believe that they have the innate ability to achieve what they would never have thought possible. Thus we strive to create an atmosphere where runners don’t feel intimidated whether they are just starting out in the sport or if they are already advanced athletes. We have put the necessary structures in place to cater for all these individuals who are all well on their way to reaching their full potential.

The amount of people joining the club has increased drastically and we are overwhelmed by the positive response thus far.
